The Negotiation of Chaos and Order
Through chaotic ink and organized collage, Intrinsic Potential Landscape series channels the anxieties of isolation, symbolizing life’s relentless struggle between entropy and equilibrium.
During the 2021 pandemic, I perceived a world that was ostensibly ordered yet internally fraught with profound anxiety and conflict. This realization prompted a shift from harmonic tones toward an intense sense of discord, manifesting a state of order born from antagonistic struggle. Consequently, I retitled this series Intrinsic Potential Landscape.
In Intrinsic Potential Landscape, graffiti-like brushwork serves as a release for the anxieties of pandemic isolation. The process of tearing and pasting is not only an attempt to negotiate the interplay between the two forces (Shi) of chaos and order but also a reflection of the fragmented visual experiences in our era of information overload, where we are daily inundated by a deluge of digital imagery. The world is a synthesis of multiplicity, chaos, and order; how can Shanshui (landscape painting) convey this paradox of "unified contradiction"? This is the core sensation I seek to communicate through this series.
Within the interplay of automatic ink strokes and the controlled block structures of collage, conflict is both opposing and antagonistic, establishing a state of order unique to today’s information-driven civilization. Following the formless, aimless marks of ink graffiti, I reassemble defined ink blocks, creating visual ruptures, disparities, and ambiguities at the boundaries between the amorphous and the shaped. Here, the dual visual forces of chaos and order intersect, giving rise to a sense of contradiction where the jarring and the communal coexist.
凌亂與秩序的協商
《勢山水》以凌亂的塗鴉筆墨發洩疫情隔離中的焦慮情緒，再以拼貼方式試圖整理出秩序，象徵生活就是在無序與有序之間不斷拮抗的狀態。
在2021年疫情期間，感受到世界因疫情而普遍存在著看似有序，實則內部充滿焦慮與衝突狀態，我開始將原本和諧調性轉向強烈不協調的衝突感，以表現世界充斥著在衝突中拮抗的秩序感，將此系列命名為《勢山水》。
《勢山水》以塗鴉筆墨發洩疫情隔離中的焦慮情緒，而撕貼除了試圖在凌亂與秩序這兩種力量（勢）之間進行相互交織與協商，也是為了表現出資訊過溢時代，每日從網路接收大量影像感知的凌亂視覺經驗。世界是雜多混亂與秩序的合一體，如何以山水畫傳達這矛盾統一的現象?這是我想透過《勢山水》傳達的感受。在自動性筆墨與拼貼控制的塊狀結構中，衝突既對立且拮抗，自成一種當今資訊文明世界的秩序狀態。在無定形無目的的點線面筆墨塗鴉之後，重新拼組一塊塊定形墨塊，於是非定形與定形之間產生觀看邊界的視覺斷裂、落差與曖昧，凌亂與秩序的兩種視覺力量在此交錯出既突兀又彼此共存的矛盾感。
